- In 1972, Bobby left the
- Chicago Blackhawks of
- the NHL to play in a new
- league called the World
- Hockey Association. (The
- WHA merged with the NHL in 1979.) Bobby
- played for the Winnipeg Jets for seven-and-a-
- half years, and ended his career on the
- Hartford Whalers, playing with Gordie Howe.

- In all, Bobby spent 16 seasons in the NHL.
- He finished his career with three scoring
- titles and 12 All-Star appearances. The
- Golden Jet was voted Player of the Decade
- for the 1960ΓÇÖs, in a poll of writers and
- sportscasters.

- of Fame in 1983. His son, Brett, is
