  2.                                  Chicago Blackhawks of 
  3.                                  the NHL to play in a new 
  4.                                  league called the World 
  5.                                  Hockey Association. (The 
  6. WHA merged with the NHL in 1979.) Bobby 
  7. played for the Winnipeg Jets for seven-and-a-
  8. half years, and ended his career on the 
  9. Hartford Whalers, playing with Gordie Howe.

  11. In all, Bobby spent 16 seasons in the NHL. 
  12. He finished his career with three scoring
  13. titles and 12 All-Star appearances. The
  14. Golden Jet was voted Player of the Decade
  15. for the 1960ΓÇÖs, in a poll of writers and
  16. sportscasters.
